He who HAS knowledge spares his words, and a man of understanding is of a calm spirit. (28) Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; when he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive. (Proverbs 17:27-28 NKJV – emphasis added)

V. 27 The person with godly knowledge speaks sparingly (infrequently), and the man with God’s anointed understanding has a calm spirit. A wise person will speak little but listen much! He or she will operate from a peaceful, calm spirit. They will not be motivated by fear or pressure to act.

V. 28 Even a fool will be considered wise if he closes his lips! He might even be thought to be perceptive!! Guard your mouth in HOW MUCH you say, as well as the nature of what you say! Then you, too, will be considered sensitive, insightful, and observant!  God bless you.
