Yearning for Safety?



Welcome to this haven of meditation upon the Lord and His Word! I’m so glad you’ve joined me.


“Now I will arise,” says the Lord; “I will set him in the safety for which he yearns.” The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. (Psalm 12:5b, 6 NKJV)

The Lord is the One who provides safety for man. His Words are our assurance that we’ll receive exactly what He has promised because His Words are pure. The Word of the Lord is proven. (2 Sam. 22:31)  That means that His Word has been tested, and it's reliable!

"The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by Him, [Who] shelters him all the day long; and he shall dwell between His shoulders." (Deuteronomy 33:12 NKJV)

I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. (Psalm 4:8 NKJV)

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "[He is] my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust." (Psalm 91:1, 2 NKJV)


The Lord has promised to make us dwell in safety. The image in Deuteronomy is that He carries us! We live in the shelter of His shadow. Take hold of the safety which has been provided for you through Jesus, your Savior. Glory to God!
