Hello, and welcome! Today we’re considering a new way of looking at others. But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7 NKJV)
Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. (2 Cor. 5:16 NKJV)
In these verses, we’re reminded that God knows our hearts and regards each of us according to His unique, all-encompassing point of view.
In second Corinthians, the writer admits that even though he used to regard Jesus from a human point of view, he does so no longer. Why is this important?
I think one of the reasons this is important is because God sees us as we truly are in our redeemed spiritual state, and His perception of each one of us is accurate--more accurate than even our own!
God’s TRUTH (His Word) says that we are:
• Set free (Romans 6:18, 22)
• Redeemed (Luke 1:68; Gal. 3:13)
• Made strong (Acts 3:16; 2 Cor. 13:9)
• Healed (1 Peter 2:24)
• His seed (Romans 11:1; 1 John 3:9)
• His representatives (Matt. 28:19;John 8:31; 13:35)
See yourself the way God sees you, and it will revolutionize your life!
